Cold-rolled strips and sheets with high precision finished products, uniform and excellent surface shape, stable and homogeneous mechanical properties and organisation. The surface finish of cold rolled sheet, strip or foil consists of a bright finish and a lustreless finish. The former is rolled on a levelling machine with a flat, bright surface and a metallic lustre. The latter is a lustreless process, where the surface is cleaned with a weak acid, shot peened or sprayed with aluminium oxide grains, and the lustre can be controlled by adjusting the grain and coarseness of the knots due to continuous annealing in the atmosphere, so that the material can be used as a decorative roofing material. Other non-glossy processes can be produced by rolling on rolls with fine unevenness.
High Purity Titanium foil is processed from soft pure titanium and is produced by cold rolling on the same flat rolling mill. Titanium foil is marketed in thicknesses of 0.01 mm, which is the minimum thickness of the sheet. In addition to pure titanium, there are also foils made from beta alloys. The picture shows a rolled titanium coil.
